Five days in Tokyo is the sweet spot — enough to cover the iconic neighborhoods, one day-trip, and proper food culture without burning out. Here’s a day-by-day route that’s been refined over 6 separate Tokyo trips.

Day 1

Day 1: Shibuya + Harajuku + Shinjuku

Morning

Arrive at hotel by 11am. Light walk through Yoyogi Park to Meiji Shrine. Lunch at a Harajuku ramen or crepe stall.

Afternoon

Walk Takeshita Street + Omotesando architecture. Shibuya Crossing at peak (5pm). Climb Shibuya Sky observatory ($25 pre-book).

Evening

Dinner in Shinjuku’s Omoide Yokocho yakitori alley. Drinks at Golden Gai — pick a bar where you fit (3-5 seats each).

Day 2
