Explore destinations
Tell us what kind of trip you want and when. We'll surface the destinations from our guide library that fit. Every result is a place we've covered first-hand, click any card to read the full guide.
How the filters work
This page filters the whole destination library at once rather than making you open guides one at a time. Combine the filters to narrow rather than to search: a month plus a budget band plus a trip type will usually reduce a few hundred destinations to a handful, and that handful is a far better starting point than a ranked list of the most popular places.
The filters are cumulative, so if you end up with nothing, remove the most restrictive one first — in practice that is usually the month, because most destinations have a genuinely poor season and combining a fixed month with a narrow budget eliminates a great deal. Resetting and rebuilding with two filters instead of four tends to be more productive than adjusting a fifth.
What to do with the results
A filtered shortlist is a starting point, not an answer, and the fastest way to resolve it is to compare two entries directly rather than reading five guides. The comparison tool puts any pairing side by side on cost, best months and travel time, which settles most shortlists in a minute.
Once a destination survives that, the order worth following is: check the month you can actually travel against that destination’s best-time page, confirm the entry requirements with the issuing authority, and only then read the full guide and build an itinerary. Doing it the other way round — reading the guide first — is how people fall for a destination that turns out to be in its wet season on the only fortnight they can take off.
