Frequently asked questions
How accurate are the exchange rates?
Rates come live from the European Central Bank and are updated every 5 minutes. They reflect mid-market rates — the same rate you see on Google Finance or XE — not retail rates with bank markups.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once loaded, the last fetched rates are cached in your browser and remain usable without an internet connection.
Are these the rates banks give me?
No. Banks add a markup (typically 2-6%) on top of mid-market rates. This converter shows the true mid-market rate so you know what fair conversion looks like.
