Privacy Policy
Packzup is an independent travel publication. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. Last updated when this page was published.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
If you contact us at hello@packzup.com, editor@packzup.com, or any team email, we receive the information you send us (your email address, your name if provided, and the contents of your message). We use this only to respond to your inquiry.
If you subscribe to a newsletter or sign up for any service, we collect the email address you provide. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
Information collected automatically
When you visit packzup.com, our servers (and our hosting provider) automatically receive standard internet log information including your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the time of your visit. This is standard web traffic logging.
We use the following analytics + tracking tools:
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate visitor analytics. Google Analytics may use cookies to track sessions. You can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Google Search Console + Bing Webmaster Tools — aggregate search query data. No personal information.
- Pinterest Tag (if installed) — aggregate analytics about traffic from Pinterest. You can opt out via Pinterest privacy settings.
2. Cookies
Packzup uses cookies for:
- Site functionality (e.g., remembering your cookie consent choices)
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
- Performance (LiteSpeed Cache + CDN)
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work correctly without cookies.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Respond to your inquiries
- Send newsletters (only if you subscribed)
- Improve the quality of our content based on aggregate analytics
- Detect and prevent abuse, spam, or security issues
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties except as required to provide our services (e.g., email service providers, hosting providers) or as required by law.
4. Affiliate Links + Commercial Relationships
Packzup uses affiliate links to partner services (Booking.com, SafetyWing, Airalo, etc.). When you click these links and make a purchase, we earn a small commission. The affiliate partners may use cookies to attribute the purchase to us. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the complete list of partners we work with.
5. Third-Party Embeds
Some Packzup pages may embed content from third-party services (YouTube videos, Google Maps, Pinterest pins, etc.). These embeds may set their own cookies and collect their own data. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
6. Pinterest Auto-Publishing
Packzup uses Pinterest’s API to publish our own content (destination guides, itineraries, travel tips) to our own Pinterest account (@packzup). This integration does not involve any user data. It only publishes pins we have created, linking back to packzup.com articles we have written.
7. Data Retention
We retain reader emails (from contact forms or newsletter signups) for as long as needed to communicate with you or provide the service you signed up for. You can request deletion at any time by emailing editor@packzup.com.
Aggregate analytics data (Google Analytics, Search Console) is retained per the standard retention periods of those services.
8. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
If you are in the EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Opt out of analytics tracking
- Object to or restrict our processing of your information
- Receive your information in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, email editor@packzup.com. We respond to requests within 30 days.
9. Children’s Privacy
Packzup is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at editor@packzup.com and we will delete it.
10. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect, including HTTPS encryption for all site traffic, secure hosting, and regular security updates. However, no internet service can be 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or from packzup.com.

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will note the “last updated” date at the top when changes occur. We will not materially reduce your rights without notifying you via the site or email (if you are subscribed).
