Editorial Policy
Packzup publishes independent travel guides written and edited by travelers with direct experience in the destinations and topics they cover. Our editorial process is built on three principles: direct experience, current accuracy, and reader-first usefulness.
Our Editorial Principles
1. Direct Experience Over SEO
Every destination guide is written by someone who has visited the destination. Every visa guide is written by someone who has processed that visa or worked with someone who has. Every adventure recommendation is field-tested. We refuse to publish guides assembled from secondary research alone, no matter how well they would rank.
2. Current Accuracy
Travel information goes stale faster than most content. We re-verify visa rules, pricing data, operator status, and safety information before publication and at minimum every six months thereafter. If a fact has changed since we wrote about it, we update or remove the claim.
3. Reader-First Usefulness
If a piece of information would not have changed our own travel decision, we don’t include it. We optimize for the traveler reading at midnight before a flight, not for word count or keyword density. Plain English. Concrete numbers. Clear recommendations.
Our Editorial Process
- Writer assignment — Drew Treasury (digital nomad / long-stay / Europe + SE Asia) and John Morrison (adventure / wildlife / Patagonia + Africa + Himalayas) handle topics within their direct expertise. Outside specialists are commissioned for topics outside their experience.
- First draft — written by someone who has been to the destination or processed the visa or used the operator.
- Fact-check pass — every claim verified against current sources (official government visa pages, current operator websites, recent reader-reported pricing data).
- Editor review — Drew personally reviews every page before publication.
- Re-publication review — major guides are reviewed quarterly and republished annually with refreshed numbers.
- Reader corrections — we publish a visible correction notice and update the article whenever a reader flags an inaccuracy.

Packzup does not publish sponsored posts. We do not sell “Best of X” rankings. Operators cannot pay to be included or featured. Our recommendations reflect our editorial judgment.
