Quick answer: Book your ski holiday 2–4 months ahead for the best package prices, and travel in mid-January or mid-to-late March — the cheapest weeks with good snow.
Timing makes a bigger difference to ski-holiday cost than almost anything else. Here’s exactly when to book and when to go.
The cheapest weeks to ski
Early-to-mid January (after New Year) and mid-to-late March are the cheapest, with prices well below peak. Avoid Christmas, New Year and the February school half-term — the most expensive weeks of the season.
How far ahead to book
For the best package deals, book 2–4 months out. Early-bird season passes and accommodation sell the cheapest. If your dates are flexible, last-minute deals (2–3 weeks out) can also be cheap — but you risk missing the resort or week you want.
More ways to cut the cost
Choose a budget resort (Bulgaria, Slovakia, Georgia), self-cater, travel midweek-to-midweek, and book lessons and gear hire locally. See our full cheap ski holidays guide.
