Dubai in October: The Humidity Breaks and the City Reopens

Reviewed September 2026

October is the month Dubai reopens. Days fall to about 35°C and keep dropping, the humidity breaks, nights return to a comfortable 24°C, and the outdoor half of the city – terraces, beach clubs, Global Village, the desert – comes back. Prices are rising but have not yet reached the winter peak, which makes the second half of October a strong window.

The weather, precisely

Like September, October is a falling month, but it starts from a much better place:

  • Early October – around 37°C, still hot, humidity easing.
  • Late October – around 33°C with pleasant evenings; morning and dusk walks work properly again.

The biggest single change is the drop in humidity. The same temperature that felt intolerable in September becomes manageable in October simply because the air has dried out.

What reopens

  • Global Village reopens around mid-October for its season, running through to about late April. Dates are announced annually.
  • Terraces, rooftops and beach clubs return in force, and outdoor dining becomes the default again.
  • Desert safaris move back to afternoon departures, with overnight camps viable again from late in the month.
  • Outdoor markets and events restart across the city.
  • The Miracle Garden typically waits until around November.

Diwali

Dubai has a very large Indian community, and Diwali – expected around 29 October 2027 – is widely and visibly marked. It is not a UAE public holiday, but expect illuminated buildings, mall decorations and events, special menus, and a busy retail week. Meena Bazaar and the Bur Dubai area are where it is most concentrated.

Hotel demand rises around it, particularly from regional and Indian visitors.

Prices and crowds

October is a rising curve and a good one to catch early. Rates in the first half are still closer to summer than winter, while the weather has already improved substantially. By the last week the winter season is effectively under way and prices reflect it. Together with April, October and November are the best value-for-weather months of the year. What to pack

Summer clothing, swimwear, hat, sunscreen and sunglasses – the sun is still strong. A light layer for indoor air conditioning, and, for late October, one for the evening as well. Comfortable walking shoes, because you will actually walk this month. Modest options for mosques, souks and older districts.
