That early stretch is also when northern fog is thinnest, so Delhi and Agra train departures are less likely to slip into the late morning.
The honest catch is in Goa, where many beach resorts attach a compulsory Christmas or New Year gala-dinner charge, often around 4,000 rupees per person, that quietly doubles your effective nightly rate and is rarely optional once you reach checkout. One more correction worth knowing: the Sunburn electronic-music festival, long a December fixture in Goa, shifted to Mumbai for its 2025 edition, so do not pick your beach week around it.
If you want something genuinely tied to this month, point yourself at the Rann Utsav in Dhordo, on the white salt flats of Kutch about 80 km from Bhuj in Gujarat. December’s full-moon nights over the bleached desert are the reason to time it now, and the tent city is fully running rather than half-built as it is in the shoulder weeks.
